About the Committee

The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Committee is constituted to promote a safe, respectful and dignified environment for women at the workplace.

The Committee works towards the prevention, prohibition and redressal of complaints relating to sexual harassment at the workplace and provides an appropriate mechanism for dealing with such complaints in accordance with applicable law and institutional policies.

The Committee is constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

Promotes a safe and respectful environment free from sexual harassment.

Internal Committee

Provides an institutional mechanism for receiving and addressing complaints.

Fair Redressal

Complaints are handled through an appropriate process in accordance with applicable provisions.

Key Functions of the Committee

  • Create awareness regarding prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace.
  • Provide an appropriate institutional mechanism for receiving complaints of sexual harassment.
  • Examine complaints and conduct inquiry in accordance with applicable provisions and prescribed procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of complaints and proceedings as required under applicable law.
  • Promote awareness about the rights and responsibilities of employees and students regarding a safe workplace.
  • Recommend appropriate action based on the findings of the inquiry wherever required.
